Her emerald eyes met his for a few seconds after the kiss ended in which she almost felt like purring like a cat. Never in her life had she wanted to do such an obsurd thing, yet here she was, having just met this man, and already she was off from her 'norm'. Personally, she felt that it was a good change, much better than what she was usually like. She liked this new, happier her. Why shouldn't she? For her entire life, Anima had been sad, why didn't she deserve to be happy now?
Feeling his larger hand engulf her dainty one, she squeezed lightly, happy to have something to hold onto and keep her attached to the ground. It was nice since she kept trailing off. With his hand on hers, she could focus better on the world around her, instead of just the insane thoughts in her head.
As they approached the city, Anima felt like running away. She hated the city. Not only did she have to stick to the shadows, but her face could often be found on 'wanted' posters, plastered around on walls by her large family. They wanted their play thing back. If she had been a cat, she would have pinned her ears to her head when the noises attacked her sensative ears. The roar of the city always made her feel angry. She never knew why, but it did keep her away most often.
"Have you lived in Ilmari long?" he asked, braking the silence.
Anima chuckled lightly, her face light and pleasant with a soft smile. "Oh, I don't live there. I'm just passing through. I normally stay away from cities, I hang out here." she said, smiling. "Just so you know, when we get to the city we'll be sticking to the alleyways. There are 'Wanted' posters, most likely, all around the city. My family is looking for me." she said, calmly. "I've been in this area, though, for about three weeks, maybe? It's the longest I've stayed in one place for a while." she said, thoughtfully, manuvering gracefully over another large boulder.

The smell of the city floated up and pierced his nostrils as they got closer. The smell of to many people, the garbage, all the different plants and foods. Things like that didn't smell nice when they were all together. His nose crinkled in response to the smell, Shade would grow used to the smell, but not for another hour or two, and he didn't think they would be in the city that long. At least he hoped not. Shade tried to only focus on the nice smells, like baking bread, or the flowers the decorated the city. It was easier to focus on a sent much closer to him, and much more pleasant, Anima's scent.
As Shade looked at her he said, "I don't mind sticking to the alleys, I will be less noticed there anyway," he smiled. Even though she had said she was on 'Wanted Posters' he guessed that it wasn't anything serious even if she had done something bad he could handle himself just fine. Shade's face showed a hint of surprise, "Your family want you back that bad," he paused, "Don't worry they can't have you as long as you're with me."

The closer they got, the more nervous Anima became. Her eyes shifted nervously around her, watching for any hint of sabatoge or danger. Often times whenever she went to enter a city people would find her, recognize her face and try to catch her. It wasn't normally an issue, they weren't expecting her to be so good at protecting herself, but it was still nerve-wracking every single time. As they inched closer to the city limits, she found herself walking closer to Shade, having already connected him with safety.
Glancing at him as he spoke in a surprised tone, she chuckled breathlessly. "You could say that, yeah. My family really wants me back. I was their favorite chew toy." she said, quietly.
"Don't worry they can't have you as long as you're with me," he said, suddenly with certainty.
It was her turn to be surprised. After a second she smiled softly. "I guess you're stuck with me then because I like that thought way too much." she murmured. The thing that surprised her was that she wasn't just talking about the safety, she liked the idea of being with him all too much.
