ooc// O.O Naminé: ORPHEUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dude! you just put your own character in mind blowing pain. O.o
bic// "Naminé, I'm sorry," he began, as if sensing her adgitation with him. Naminé felt her anger falter. How could she ever be angry with him? He had left, hadn't he? Even though he thought it was just a dream. She was just about to speak up to apologize and tell him that he, himself, had absolutely nothing to feel sorry about, when he was no longer flying beside her. At first she just blinked in confusion, then she heard the rush of air through feathers, and her head snapped down, so quickly that her neck cracked loudly.
Her eyes widened in alarm and terror as she saw him flying down. This was worse than the vision she had. The site of him falling, in such a defenseless position scared her more than she'd ever like to admit, or experience again. Her body tipped downward, and she was instantly diving through the air after him, her heart thudding painfully in her chest. His scream made it stop. This could not be happening.
She heard him hit the ground, and she pulled her wings in completely, so that she was free-falling. Naminé knew the impact would hurt, but she didn't care. Tilting her body so that she'd land land feet first, she bent her knees and grimanced at the crunch they gave off with her landing. Dropping to her knees beside his prone body, tears filling her eyes. The moon reflected off of them, making them look like stars falling from chocolate depths.
Naminé had little to no training in the healing. She was a Necromancer, nothing more. One thing was, with the experiments done on her, she'd learned a lot, as well as her wings having their own mind. They knew how to heal wing injuries, no matter how bad they were. The rest, Naminé had picked up while listening to her parents. See, they were good for something.
Inhaling deeply, one of her eyes turned neon pink as her wings took half her sight. Instantly her hands moved over him, moving his wings gently, although she knew it would hurt him. She had to get them stretched out completely, both of them. Once they were out she assessed the damage, calmly, finding it was easier to do when she did it objectively. With part of her mind not being her own, it was not as hard as she thought it would have been, looking down at her broken love on the ground. Finally her wings passed into her hands and they glowed bright pink, as they passed over his wings, one at a time. As they slowly scanned over them, Naminé watched with awe as the tendrils and netting formed anew and knit back together. The web of his demon wing formed again, and knew feathers sprouted on his angelic one. Soon they looked as if they were back to normal, and she moved them. Her wing spirit said they were healed, and she knew they would be. Then she got out her medic supplies from a pouch on her belt and went to wrapping his chest, back, and shoulders. Her wing spirit sank back into her subconscious, and she stared down at her boyfriend before her. He still looked beat up. "We're not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere." she murmured, as the guilt crashed down upon her and her world around her, symbolized by the sudden opening of the heavens upon them. She knelt over him, so that it wouldn't soak him, although it got her thoroughly.

Pain.
That was all he felt as he hit the ground with a chorus of agonizing cracks from bones being shattered and broken. Anguish made him cry out in pain again as he felt white-hot fire lace up his spine. Blood leaked from the corner of his mouth and from multiple injuries all over his body.
His wings he could feel healing, knew it was Nami healing them, but he couldn't breathe. Every breath was painful and labored, every beat of his heart strained. Something vital was hurt, he could tell, even as he began to feel himself slip into unsciousness.
Orpheus! Orpheus, keep breathing! Liora gasped as she felt him begin to cease. His ribs expanded in another breath, more painful than the last.
"We're not going anywhere. I'm not going anywhere." he heard a voice say. Who... Who...? Who's voice was that? He gazed up at her blearily. His vision swam with sparkles and alternating light and darkness. "N-N-Na-" he broke off in a serious of horrible coughing, choking on blood.

Naminé saw the broken being before her, and she knew that Orpheus was fighting for his life. Dam.n! If only she wasn't born a Necromancer, but a healer! Why couldn't she help him? Why?! It shouldn't be this difficult. If you love someone, that should be all that matters. The gods shouldn't take that away from you! Seein him choke as she stuttered over her name, her eyes flashed with anger at the heavens. If they took him away from her, she swore, she'd make them pay. She'd make them all pay. She'd do it too. Naminé knew that her powers could be used for evil, and she'd make ill-fortune rain down upon the world if they took the one thing she held dear away from her.
Turning his head, so that the blood would drain from his throat instead of clog it, she looked up and saw green. Horrible green. Horribly familiar green. The killer from her vision. "Ah.. Miss Naminé. It seems we meet at last. When you started running, I knew that you knew I was coming for you, little girl. Is your little toy broken? Oh, don't give me that look. I can fix it for you. Of course it would mean you'd have to return to your parents, I really don't know why you ran away from them, they're great people." the monster spoke, his voice sickening.
In any other case, she would have run for her life, but he offered her her only hope at survival because without Orpheus she couldn't. Her shoulders slumped in defeat, and she gazed down lovingly at the man below her. She brushed his hair out of his eyes. "For you," she whispered, "Anything." Slowly, she got to her feet, and her chocolate eyes seemed charcoal in the light as she glared at the being in front of her. "Fine. You win. I'll come. You fix him though. Now. Before we go anywhere. No funny business. Don't do anything to him beside fix his body and make him as he was before he was hurt. Nothing else." she snapped, her body shaking in terror. She knew he'd been real.
Smirking mockingly at her, he nodded and a foul green dome formed overtop of Orpheus' body, forcing her away from him. She watched as his body healed itself. She knew that he'd be knocked unconscious. There was no way the beast in front of her would let him try and keep her from leaving. No way in hell. Finally the bubble disappeared, the monster jumped over him, grabbed her waist, and they disappeared without leaving a trace besides the drops of her tears on the ground below her feet.
ooc// it just happened. o.o

Orpheus felt something moving, healing him but trapping him at the same time. Something dark, twisted...something that shouldn't exist. Every cell of his body rebelled against it, disgusted, but it was unstoppable, forcing him into the confines of his mind. Forcing him down, back, and away...
He was dazed and hazy and confused, but one thing was clear as day, like a flame burning for all it's worth deep in the darkest corner of the universe. A realization so powerful that it would drive him to the ends of the world.
Naminé was in danger.
Light be dam.ned, Orpheus, you fool! Charon roared, ripping at the wall that seperated him from control. The things I do for you!
Orpheus' eyes snapped open, but they weren't their normal mismatched colors. Oh, no. His eyes were pitch black, golden flecks swirling angrily around the irises. His right wing melted and morphed to match his left. Charon was out, and he was ready to have some fun. Shadows twisted up around his body and enveloped them silently...that monster was in for a surprise.
((sorry, I know it's not much to go on...the next one will be much better, I promise!!!))

ooc// me: *appears in a - skimpy - cheerleaders outfit* Gooooo Charon!
bic// Naminé gasped as she felt the world twist around her. Teleportation did not feel as she had expected it to, not that she had ever imagined being moved that way before, but stil. It was like being twisted from the inside out until she was standing on solid ground again. The world swayed, and she collapsed to her knees, feeling like she was going to be sick. Eyes that matched a bog stared down at her in amusement. "You gave in much more quickly than I would have though. Oh, I know you love him, but still. Love is such a pathetic excuse." [/i] he drawled, yanking her none to gently back to a standing position. Her parents were entering. Naminé's eyes widened with terror. Her parents were just as she remembered them. They were very average looking. That was what scared her the most. There was nothing on the outside to warn anyone that they were worse than killers on the inside. "Naminé," her mother gushed, rushing forward, "Oh, da- hwling. How I've missed you! Why would you run away? Do you know how worried we were?" Naminé flinched away from her. Any person that would see this without the inside scoop would have no idea why she was trying to get away. "Naminé," her father began, his voice cool and terrifying, "We have some new research. You'll help us, won't you?" So it begins. Naminé shook her head vehemently and spat at their feet. "I came back because he," she pointed hateful at the man beside her, "Sad he could fix my friend. Nothing more. I never agreed to anything. So just stay the hell away from me, you got that, you ba.stards?!" she screamed, her terror making her voice shake. Her father just shook her head and smiled. The next thing Naminé knew, she was seeing black, and the world died around her. When she woke she found herself in a very familiar machine. The machine where she'd first got her wings.[/size][/blockquote]

Charon wasn't sure whether to be offended or amused by the pathetic attempt at hiding the teleportation's destination. Honestly, did they have any idea who they were dealing with?
As the shadows opened a portal, he had to admit that no, they probably didn't. But that was just fine...they would soon enough. He slipped through the shadows.
"Oh, da-hwling. How I've missed you! Why would you run away? Do you know how worried we were?"
Gag. Choke. Cough. Death. Charon covered his mouth with one hand, listening to the conversation. The shadows still cloaked him in darkness, superior demonic energy masking any detection devices or alter-plane views. Not that he expected these mortal idiots to know anything about those.
Even Charon had to admit that he wasn't having any fun waiting; believe it or not, concern was beginning to make him impatient. Him, a demon! A High Demon at that! Concerned! His parents would be mortified. Well, if they even cared, of course.
There. The sound of a machine running. His entire body disinigrated once more into darkness, particles flowing from convienent shadows on the lab floor until he was near Naminé. Near enough to enter her mind.
Now that was the hard part. The da.mn girl had more defences than a watergod at hightide. Charon shoved and strained, precious time trickling by as he forced his way into her mind. Then, silence.
[glow=red,2,300]Naminé, this is Charon. Not the stereotypical Prince Charming, I know, but I hardly doubt you care at this point.[/glow]
He couldn't resist adding a little sarcasm in there.
[glow=red,2,300]Tell me how to get you out of this thing.[/glow]

ooc// ugh! why does nami get his voice in her head? i want him in my head! <3
bic// Naminé's body twisted and convulsed as she struggled to get free from the cold iron that was rubbing against her wrists in a highly painful way. No way. No way was she going to let them experiment more on her. There was no f.ucking way! It'd been her life's mission to stay as far away from them as possible since the day she got free from this hell hole. It was only the though of Orpheus being okay, that kept her from losing her mind to her terror.
Suddenly she felt something pushing and clawing at her defenses and it took all she had not to scream. Was this a new experiment of theres? Were they trying to break her mind now too? Couldn't they be happy with just her body? Then she felt it get through, and she heard the most beautiful voice in the world. Charon. Okay, maybe not the most beautiful, but at the moment, it was definitely the most welcome.
"I definitely don't care! God, Charon! I'm so happy you're here! Remind me never to diss you again!" she half cried in her mind. "There's a lever over there. There's a combination. 9-7-2-3-6-1." she added quickly, wanting nothing more than to get out of here. The tattoo on her back prickled, as if her wings knew the danger their host was in.

"I definitely don't care! God, Charon! I'm so happy you're here! Remind me never to diss you again!" Charon chuckled. [glow=red,2,300] Yes, I'm sure that's going to last. And you couldn't offend me if you tried, girl.[/glow] Shockingly, a bit of affection crept into his tone right then. Horrified, Charon fell silent. Then, luckily, she spoke again, seemingly unnoticing of his slip-up. "There's a lever over there. There's a combination. 9-7-2-3-6-1." She was free in a matter of seconds, but he wouldn't let her move immediately. [glow=red,2,300] Let me see what's going on first, then we can decide how we'll handle it.[/glow] The machine didn't seem to be starting up just yet, after all. He left her for a moment to look around the room. Other than that nasty green monster, they were more-or-less alone. Charon returned, glad that her defenses weren't as strong this time. [glow=red,2,300] What's that disgusting green puddle of slop? Is that meant to be some form of demon? I'm thoroughly disturbed.[/glow] ((awful, I'm so sorry ))

Naminé felt her eyes go wide with horror as he talked about a green puddle of goo. She dropped to the ground from the machine's hold, and instantly backed as far away from it as possible, but she soon found that the demon had disappeared, and the slop was all that was left of his body. Relaxing, she shook her head. "That's not the demon, and the monster isn't actually a big green monster. It has a human shape. A very human shape, if you know what I mean. You just haven't gotten the pleasure of meeting him yet. I myself wish I'd been spared the honor." she murmured, still trembling. "Not trying to shorten your amazing rescue or anything, but the sooner I get out of here, the better. I'm almost positive you heard my mother's wonderful accent, and I'm sure you can understand." Nami was feeling more herself now that she had a familiar person in the room. Plus, he just so happened to be in the body she loved the most.
Her chocolate orbs kept sweeping the room, looking for any possible danger. "How's Orpheus..?" she murmured, as the realization of what Charon's control might mean.

((now I feel stupid; your posts are better than mine even when you're sick!!! lolz )) He was tempted to smack her upside the head for jumping out of the machine so quickly. Honestly, did she ever listen? "That's not the demon, and the monster isn't actually a big green monster. It has a human shape. A very human shape, if you know what I mean. You just haven't gotten the pleasure of meeting him yet. I myself wish I'd been spared the honor." [glow=red,1,000] "That's no demon, my dear. That's a pathetic attempt at mimicking one." [/glow] he told her absently, then immediately cursed himself in his own language--full of harsh accents and sounds that almost hurt to listen to, but somehow...intriguingly seductive all the same--for slipping up again. What was with all the affection, suddenly? Da.mn angel was rubbing off on him. Ugh. He'd have to bathe in Angel-Off when he returned to his dimension. "Not trying to shorten your amazing rescue or anything, but the sooner I get out of here, the better. I'm almost positive you heard my mother's wonderful accent, and I'm sure you can understand." she informed him, earning a dirty look for her troubles. [glow=red,1,000] "Yes, well, I'm working on dealing with your lover's weak body at the moment. I'd prefer to be handling this in my own." [/glow] "How's Orpheus..?" Naminé asked now. He glared at her--was the girl trying to get herself killed, running all over the room like that--and yanked her over, holding her tight to his side. [glow=red,1,000] "Hold still and be quiet for a moment, I'm trying to think...and with Orpheus' limited intelligence, it's not easy. And to answer your question, because I know you won't rest until I do, he's unconscious." [/glow] Very vague and obvious, but that was just too bad. [glow=red,1,000] "If worst comes to worst, I'm going to bring us into the Eternal and hope you survive."[/glow]

Naminé felt herself still at his affectionate terms. Either Liora was getting to him, Orpheus was partially conscious and forcing him into using endearing words, or she had finally rubbed off on him. She liked to think it was the later. He obviously wasn't so happy about him because even she could tell he was cussing when he went off rambling in a language she was not familiar with - his own.
If they'd been in any other place, when Charon had referred to Orpheus as her lover, she probably would have kicked him, simply because it reminded her that both he and Liora were present whenever she and Orpheus were "getting it on", as she like to call it "rolling around in the dirt". Of course, this wasn't the place, and she didn't really want to get on Charon's bad side. She was the rescue-ee after all, while he was the rescuer.
Biting her lip as she was pulled against his side, she hung her head and shut her mouth.
"If worst comes to worst, I'm going to bring us into the Eternal and hope you survive."
"That sounds dandy." she muttered, not exactly joking. She'd much rather face the odds at survival in the Eternal than here in her parents laboratory.

Charon glanced around again. There was absolutely no security, no plane-views, nothing. It was an insult to his abilities.
[glow=red,2,300]"This place is a joke." [/glow]
He grumbled at Naminé, shaking his head as he started for the window again. Transporting two people through dark particles required more energy than he was willing to waste at the moment. He had a sense of paranoia that, because it was too easy here, there would be a problem that would test all his abilities later on down the road. Hence, he opened the window in a matter of minutes, pulled Naminé onto his back, and launched himself out.
With matching demon wings, Orpheus' body was twice as fast and strong in the air. Of course, had they been angel wings, it would be the same basic idea, if not better. No, not better. Charon's ego wouldn't be able to handle that.
Well, it makes sense. Angels do live higher up. Liora pointed out reasonably.
Oh, stuff it. Charon replied moodily, absently seeking Orpheus' consciousness. No, the boy was still lost in the darkest corners of his mind, despite Liora's attempts to draw him out. Hopefully, all he needed was time. Charon wasn't particularly good at the whole healing jazz; his advice was usually "smack it around and it'll get better", or something along those lines.
He didn't answer anything Naminé said or asked until he had landed lightly on the roof of a building in a small town not too far off, but far enough that it would take that nasty monster a while to get there. At least a few days, maybe three if the thing was lucky.
Not letting her climb off his back yet, he dropped noiselessly to the ground and then let her slide off. It was late, so nobody was out at the moment. He double-checked, looking for the sign. Yep. The Den. The best inn around...which really wasn't all that good, but it wasn't too shabby either. There were no rats, at least. That's always a plus. He couldn't remember if they had a mouse problem or not, though.
[glow=red,2,300]"We'll stay here the night and see if Orpheus makes a miraculous recovery." [/glow]
He told her, not really giving her a say in it.
((sorry, I know it's not that great. It is better than most of the ones I've been doing, though lol))

Naminé found herself drawn onto Charon's back, and she settled there quietly. This place was a joke. What the hell? This couldn't be the same place she'd been held at before, no matter how familiar it looked. There had been drones on every inch of this place, and eyes, always eyes. Watching her from every corner. The security had been a thing of immense technology for the time, including some things that came from the future. What was going on here? Either she was dreaming, or something was wrong here.
Soon they were in front of an inn. The Den, apparently.
"We'll stay here the night and see if Orpheus makes a miraculous recovery."
Naminé found herself nodding. "Okay." she murmured, uncharacteristically not feeling up to arguing or back talking.
