As his lips spread into a warming smile, Naminé's pupils dialated lustfully as she gazed at him. Why should she care that Charon was standing right next to them? He'd been right there when she and Orpheus were having sex, so why should she care now? She didn't. When she was pulled up into his arms, she trembled as his lips brushed her ear. Unfair. Her lips pursed as she was held against his body. This probably wasn't the best idea. He was still weak. No doubt this would end badly.
Her lips turned up in a sexy little smirk as Orpheus moved towards the door and it exploded off it's hinges as he kicked it strongly. She waved cutely to the manager as they left, and laughed into Orpheus' chest. As Charon's wings beat the two in the ground, Naminé watched Orpheus' shirt tugging tightly against his chest and she grinned thankfully up at Charon. As they lifted into the air, her fingers clutched into his shirt. It was always awkward the first few seconds in the air when she wasn't supported by her own wings, plus the wind hurt her aching body.
Naminé kept her dark brown eyes on his face, checking for weakness and when it finally began to appear, she wanted to twist out of his arms and spread her own wings, but her body protested with the slightest movement, and she knew she wouldn't be able to save herself from the fall if she twisted out of his arms without her wings already released. She bit down on her bottom lip. Stupid parents of hers. They'd done this. To both of them.
When they landed, he stumbled before letting her slip to the ground. A moment later he knelt down struggling to catch his breath. Naminé breathed in deeply as her body was jarred by the earth beneath her feet and she slipped to her knees beside him, finding it less taxing than standing upright. As Orpheus tried to stand, only to succeed with the pain evident on his handsome face, Naminé's eyes flashed over to Charon, the sudden ice in them chilling even on Demonic terms. "This place you're leading us to had da.mn well better be close, Charon. Otherwise just tell us what is obviously bugging you right here." she snapped, remaining slightly bent over her knees, drawing in deep, relaxing breaths to keep the slightly nauseating pain at bay.

"This place you're leading us to had da.mn well better be close, Charon. Otherwise just tell us what is obviously bugging you right here."
Charon met her gaze with a nihilism that sent chills through Orpheus' body. The demon's face was utterly impassive, void of any emotion, as he fixed his obscure gaze on hers.
[glow=red,2,300]"To begin, Lady Naminé, nothing besides the dank stench of that last motel is bothering me. To end, our destination is within a mile, perhaps half of one."[/glow]
With that, he closed the distance between them in two strides, leaned down, and scooped Nami up into his arms. Without waiting for Orpheus, he turned and began to walk. A moment later, the human male slowly got to his feet and began moving as well, a bit of a distance behind, but close nonetheless.

ooc// dude!? are you sure you're younger than me?! where in the world did you learn a word like "nihilism" i don't even know that word! i had to go look it up! im still not clear of what it's suppose to mean
bic// On someone with less of a palet for fear, Charon's gaze would have made anyone cower before him. Naminé however held his gaze. Hey, he could kill her if he wanted, there was nothing she could do about it, and he didn't have to be provocked by her to suddenly decide that he wanted her gone, so why back down? Even his eyes withdrew almost nothing from her clear, fearless face. She did feel a tiny bit bad, he had after all been willing to give up so much, but she was tired, and thus, she was cranky. So sue her.
"To begin, Lady Naminé, nothing besides the dank stench of that last motel is bothering me. To end, our destination is within a mile, perhaps half of one." he murmured, his voice dark and low.
Naminé sighed, and swiped her dark hair out of her eyes. "You're the one who picked it." she grumbled, finding that it's odor did cling to them all. A mile wasn't that bad. She could walk that far. If she had to. Which, apparently she didn't because at that moment Charon took two strides towards her and scooped her into his muscled arms. With that, he began to walk away from Orpheus, and Naminé scowled down into her own crossed arms, but didn't complain. Charon could be trying to be nice to her, or he could be trying to get her away from Orpheus so he could do one of the following: a) rip her to shreds, or b) savage her body. She liked to think it was the very first option.
Quite suddenly her eyes flashed to a bright pink, and her scowl darkened. At the same moment a slightly decaying ghost arose out of the ground beside her and latched onto her leg. "Let go!" she barked, grouchily as she jerked her leg in toward her, catching the ghost off guard, before smashing it back into its face, causing it to fly backward and sprawl on the ground. Just as quickly as it had come, it sank back into the ground and her eyes reverted to their natural chocolate color.
"I wish I knew where we were going." she thought, tiredly as her eyes slipped closed. Eh, Charon could do whatever he wanted, she was just so tired.

Pointedly ignoring her original comment, Charon continued moving at a leisurely pace.
Of course, when he saw the creature rise from the dirt in a posthumous attempt, his pace quickened slightly. Not because he was afraid, but more because he wasn't in the mood to deal with a moribund spirit. Relief flickered across his face when Nami kicked the specter away, glad that their journey hadn't been slowed.
Orpheus felt his eyes narrow as he gazed at Charon. Something was nagging at the demon, he could tell. What, exactly, he wasn't sure...but whatever it was, it had to be dangerous, because nothing short of the apocalypse would make Charon turn his head. Or a beautiful woman. Still.

Naminé forced her eyes open, simply because she remember that when you're injured, you should never let yourself fall asleep if it feels like you're slipping, instead of floating. Sighing, agitatedly, Naminé laid her head back so that it was resting partially against his forearm and partially against his chest, she bit down on her lip lightly. "What happened with Lamya? Are you okay?" she asked finally, her voice quiet. Despite herself, she couldn't hate Charon. He may be a hardas.s demon, and he may seriously be a pain in her neck, but that didn't mean she didn't like him, at least a tiny little bit.
Her mind worried about her lover. Inside, she was worried about Orpheus. Her body could sense him moving tiredly behind them. It made it feel like her heart was stretching to reach him. She felt like she hadn't been with him in so long, it hurt to be away from him now.
Dragging her mind sluggishly back to the man in front of - well perhaps under might be more appropriate - her, her eyes rolled upwards so that she could see his jaw. "Perhaps it's just because you have your own body again, so your attitude has changed, but it seems like something's wrong." she murmured. Oh, she was so tired.

"Perhaps it's just because you have your own body again, so your attitude has changed, but it seems like something's wrong."
Charon growled softly, irascibility leaking through his sangfroid illusion. The mortal, he knew, was only trying to satisfy the urgings of her overly-compassionate heart--though he would much prefer the satisfaction of other urges, namely those generally met in the bedroom. Even so, somehow, she had managed to break his shell, and for some reason, hot fury was boiling through him now. Without another word, he marched onward, not stopping until he had reached their destination; a great expanse of rocky ledges aside the edge of a mountain, atop which sat a grand, though ancient castle. He knew that Cobalt would be more than pleased to see him, as the other demon was one of few that actually had any hold on the black void Charon considered his heart, but even so he was wary of approaching immediately.
Orpheus finally caught up, out of breath and exhausted. "Having fun, b.astard?" he snapped at the demon, then glanced at Namine. "Feeling alright?"

Almost instantly after Naminé had spoken, anger seemed to flare off the demon in tangable waves. It was so thick, and dark, infact that Naminé felt her throat closing up, almost chocking on his fury. Teeth locking in place, her arms tightened over her chest in her own version of anger, although it wasn't nearly impressive, and she wasn't really mad. She was annoyed. What is with men not being able to express themselves? If they would warn a woman as to what was too far over the line, then perhaps they wouldn't have to be constantly delving into one of these tantrums, which were impressive yet highly unnecessary.
It didn't help that she knew he was still yearning after her body. Crazy ba.stard. He would be wanting to roll around in the dirt with her even now. Pervert. Of course, she didn't really mind, that was just how he was, and she had gotten use to it. She had a soft spot for the demon, although she knew she shouldn't. It wasn't like she loved him like Orpheus or anything, but she did care for him, like a distant relative or a goldfish.
Finally they arrived at wherever the hell he had been taking them, which at first looked just like a slab of old rock, until finally it's true shape - a massive castle - took form. At that moment Orphie finally caught up, looking totally spent. Naminé grit her teeth and forced herself not to glare at Charon, he'd done a nice thing keeping her from having to walk. "Having fun, b.astard?" he snarled out at his ex-other half. Then his gaze turned to her and softened. "Feeling alright?" he murmured.
"Better than you, I'm sure, because I didn't have to walk, but not all that fabulous to tell you the truth." she answered just as softly. The truth was it had rubbed her scars on her back the wrong way, and his anger had tired her out. He dam.n well better tell them what had gone on now.

"Better than you, I'm sure, because I didn't have to walk, but not all that fabulous to tell you the truth." she admitted softly. Orpheus grimaced and nodded in agreement, talking a long moment to breathe as Charon paused for the first time in hours. His muscled torso heaved with each breath, his head dipped towards the ground, allowing his hair to fall over his eyes.
Charon paused just another moment, his anger evaporating as he noted, with pleasure, that he no longer had to wait for Orpheus to decide to move on. Striding forward, the demon focused his obsidian gaze on the castle ahead, readjusting his hold on Nami unconsciously to allow the scars reprieve from discomfort. It was a bit more of a strain on him, obviously, but he hardly noticed what he was doing, his thoughts located elsewhere.
Orpheus growled softly to himself, gritting his teeth and shooting his former counterpart a heated glare before resuming the relentless march to their next stop. His eyes widened suddenly, and he faltered mid-step as he noted Charon's fingers moving in slow, soft circles on Namine's aching back. Surprise didn't allow him to continue walking for another moment, but when he did, he felt a grin stretch across his face. Charon wasn't able to fully hide the fact that he did possess some element of compassion and a soft spot for the hot-headed girlfriend of his former human counterpart--and while Orpheus knew that Charon would gladly take Nami to bed, he happened to know full well that Charon was more likely to hesitate in the event of such an offer than with any other woman on the planet. He harbored a sincere affection for the girl, and it was forcing Orpheus to view him in an entirely new light.

Naminé felt herself scowling in anger as she saw Orpheus doubled over, practically gasping for breath in his exhausted state. If it wouldn't be so weird, she'd have asked Charon to put her down and carry her boyfriend instead, but... That was totally creepy and thus, completely out of the question. Still, Orpheus had just resurfaced, she didn't need him passing out and disappearing again. What if he didn't come back this time? Would Liora take over his body, or would he stay in a comatose state forever. Neither option seemed very pleasant, and Naminé knew that she wouldn't be able to handle either. She'd probably do something completely stupid like sleep with Charon if that happened, and then she'd probably kill herself. Not because of the sex with Charon, oh, no, she was certain he was fine in that area, but she wouldn't want to be alive without Orpheus beside her. That was all there was to it.
Resurfacing herself to realize that they were on the move again, Naminé was about to complain when she noticed that her back was no longer aching, as much. Charon had - consciously or unconsciously - shifted her weight so that his arms were no longer adgitating the winged scars on her back. Finding that this allowed her to be much more comfortable, exhaustion fell over her, and her eyes slipped closed, causing her body to rest lightly against his chest as she fought to stay awake. If she hadn't been so tired, her eyes would have snapped open in confused shock when she suddenly felt his fingers rubbing gentle circles over her scars in a motion to sooth them. What. The. Hell. Oh well, she might as well enjoy it. She wasn't going to say squat about what he was doing. He probably didn't even realize he was doing it, and she was going to keep it that way.
It did however make feelings of desperatly missing Orpheus return however. Oh sure, he was struggling along behind them, hurt, but well, but they hadn't gotten a chance to be alone yet. It wasn't that she lived on her body's needs, but after a break apart like this she wanted to be with him, wanted to remember that not everything had changed. One day, after Charon finally told them what was up, they would get back to their lives, and Naminé wouldn't let Orpheus escape her then.

Charon frowned. While he was aware of the sexual tension crackling through the air between Namine and Orpheus, he made no movement to suggest that neither he knew nor cared. No, his gaze, currently unfocused and shadowed with dark thoughts, was focused on the grand, gothique castle before them.
The gates were made of some sort of black-tinted metal bars, intricate and elegant, with a lethal aura that cast a cloud of forboding over the majestic estate.
[glow=red,2,300]"Whatever you do, don't touch that gate. If you survive the curse-spell, you'll walk away with five less fingers than you began with." [/glow]
Charon warned them quietly. Orpheus quickly retracted his hand. Setting Namine down, the demon strode forward and reached out one strong hand, resting it on the lock in the very center of the gate. He had no way of knowing for certain that he himself would remain unharmed, but a pressing urge to enter the untraceable safety of Cobolt's home was driving him to making impulsive--and rather idiotic--decisions.
The metal burned visible for a moment, the area directly outlining his hand white-hot. He snarled softly, his eyes narrowing in pain as he opened his mouth, where fangs were evident. Speaking in the ancient language of his own kind (a series of low hissing and spitting noises, akin to those of a snake), he informed the spirit-encompassed metal of his idenity.
After a long moment, the burning sensation faded, and the gates swung open with the sound of a tortured soul bound to service, denied the peace of the afterlife. The demon ignored it, shoving Orpheus through and then scooping Namine back up with careful attention to her scars before stepping through the gates himself and hearing the metal swing back and lock with an ominous click that rang out through the silence. Immediately, the haunting feeling of being watched that had plagued him throughout their journey disappeared as the ancient magic took hold of the new occupants of its hallowed grounds.
Charon turned to face Orpheus, letting both of the humans make eye-contact with him and realize the severity of his words as he spoke.
[glow=red,2,300]"You are out of your league here, both of you. Within these walls are demons that will as soon bid you a good day as pull your veins from your body and use them to floss their teeth. If their eyes are completely dark, I don't care what they say to aggravate you; You do as they ask. Immediately. Do not hesitate. I am not saying that because you are humans, I am saying that because I would do the same if approached by one of their Blood. Furthermore, there is a demon within those walls by name of Nihilit. He is merciless, but he is also a necromancer. Namine, you may wish to speak to him about the spirits plaguing you. Now, here are the rules until I say otherwise. If you value your lives by any stretch of the imagination, do not speak unless spoken to, do as you're told, and never, under any circumstances unless completely and utterly unavoidable--and by that I mean never--leave my sight. Am I understood?"[/glow]
His words held a grim sense of danger that was rarely heard, and each warning held no arrogance, no mockery, only sincere severity. Every word was the truth. If they treated the demons in this castle the way they treated him, Orpheus and Namine would be tormented in ways they could never imagine in ten thousand decades.

Naminé wasn't stupid, and neither was Charon. The hell-fire girl knew that Charon probably could guess where her mind was at, based on her smell or something freaky, or whatever, but she also knew that while he was no gentleman, he wouldn't purposefully bring it up at this moment. He seemed to serious to take the time to tease her about it. His eyes never once left the castle, for the remainder of the walk to the extravagant palace. He was somewhere else entirely. Maybe he was thinking about something, like the sky and the birds, or maybe he was smelling her "aroused" scent. Not that she was, or anything, but he could probably smell where her thoughts were going. Once a perv, always a perv.
As they finally approached the gate, Charon broke his silent vigil. "Whatever you do, don't touch that gate. If you survive the curse-spell, you'll walk away with five less fingers than you began with," he took the time to say before he unceremoniously dumped Naminé on the ground. Well, dumped was a little harsh, he sat her down. Naminé was prepared to get up when she was distracted by the smell of burning skin as it passed by her nose. Looking up to see Charon's skin burning on the gate, she grimanced. Stupid. Maybe she'd have to take back her earlier thought on his being smart. Hearing the sounds of his language, Naminé closed her eyes. She didn't know whether to be intrigued or disgusted. It was so unlike her own. Everything about it screamed "not human" and it made her instincts tell her to run. Even if she wanted to, which she didn't, she was too tired to put forth the effort.
Smiling inside as Charon carefully picked her back up, her eyes sotened, but she closed them so that he wouldn't see. Charon wouldn't like her looking at him fondly like that. Oh, lusting after him would be fine, but never compassion. As they entered inside, Naminé felt herself shuddering. Not only did this place give her the creeps, but it was just colder inside. Physically and Psychologically. It was on the verge of terrifying.
As Charon turned, Naminé caught Orpheus' eye and she smiled ever so slightly, unable to fully do so at the moment simply because of the weight this place seemed to push down on her. When Charon began his speech, Naminé bowed her head, the gravity of his words sinking in the better that way. Her obsidian hair fell around her shoulders, and her bangs shadowed her eyes. Talking with a necromancer sounded usefully, but the danger of the place seemed to drown that out. Why the hell would Charon bring two - weakened - humans to a place like this. It didn't sound like he was trying to get them killed, but it sure felt like it.
"Understood." Naminé said simply, opening her eyes to meet Orpheus' calmly. She hid her fear well.

Charon nodded as she responded, turning his head to fix a dark gaze on Orpheus. Their eyes locked; one gaze a challenge, the other a threat. After a long moment, Orpheus broke the stare and nodded. "Fine. Understood." he muttered. Charon inclined his head slowly.
[glow=red,2,300]"Good. Now, you'll be taken care of. This is the safest place for all of us at this point. More so for me than you." [/glow]
That last bit wasn't true. This was just as much, if not more so, for the safety of his human companions--Ahem, his pathetic tag-alongs. There was a healer here that could take care of both of them, and the presence of all the demons would help mask his own presence, and hence the remains of his aura he had left on Orpheus. H.ell forbid Iodine ever found him.
Of course, the additional presense, especially one as powerful as his, was attracting the demons currently within the range of the masking spell. That was why, a moment later, a voice sounded behind them. A softspoken voice that was so full of icy malice that Charon visibly shivered as he turned, though he did his best to hide it.
Nihilit stood there, gazing at them with his pitch-black eyes. Metallic streaks of blue, thin and abundant, lined towards his pupils deep within his irises. His ebonite hair was long enough to cast a shadow across his pale face, and his black robe eclipsed the form of his body.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Charon and Orpheus Nyx."[/glow]
He spoke in a low monotone, each word dripping with venom that didn't seem to be directed at anything in particular, but merely a part of his nature that was entirely unavoidible. His words were formed with minimal movement of his lips, but long, needle-like fangs were briefly visible at rare intervals.
His shadowed gaze fell on the girl's lithe form that Charon held in his strong arms.
[glow=blue,2,300]"And company."[/glow]
Charon dipped his head at the other demon. Nihilit was not of the same standard as him, but dangerous none the less, and considering how this was partially Nihilit's home, some respect was due.
[glow=red,2,300]"Nihilit. You seem well."[/glow]

Seeing that Orpheus was considering denouncing Charon's plan, her own gaze flashed to her lovers. Her eyes said clearly, 'Do as he says.' Usually, she'd side with Orpheus, but not in such a precarious moment as this. Charon was a demon. This place was obviously of demonic nature, hence the gate that only opened at his voice. Therefore, Charon was in charge here. That was the end of it.
When Orpheus surrendered, Naminé breathed a barely audible sigh of relief. The last thing that she wanted to happen was for them to fight in a place like this. She had a feeling that if it had come to that, Charon would have just knocked Orpheus right out, or killed him, so that he wouldn't be a threat in this place. She hoped she was wrong, but she knew she probably wasn't. Miss Noctis listened intently as Charon spoke yet again, if he ever had a chance to replay this in his mind, he'd probably think triumphantly back on the fact that he'd gotten her to be so submissive.
Suddenly she heard a voice behind them, and her shoulders tightened with the stress of the moment. Feeling Charon shudder underneath her, only caused her fear to deepen. What could ever scare Charon? Whatever, or whoever, it was could only mean trouble, and she'd definitely obey her Demonic legs now. As they turned around, Naminé steeled herself. Her eyes, although lowered did quickly meet the other demon's eye. She knew - he being the more powerful of them - that she should keep her eyes lowered out of respect, but she also knew to not meet his eyes at least once was like dismissing his presence. Not a very good option.
The demon's voice brought fear to her heart in the way even her parents could not. She hoped never to have to hear a voice ever like that again. It was twisted by so much evil, that she knew it was tainted and could never again be gentle, even if it's owner wanted it to be. As the demon's eyes fell onto her and mentioned her presence, she nodded ever so slightly in acknowledgement. It was stiff with tension, if nothing else.
"Nihilit. You seem well."
Ah, so this was the other necromancer that Charon had mentioned. Somehow that scared her more. Even though she wasn't a demon... could her powers bring her so low as well? She said nothing, having not been spoken to.

[glow=blue,2,300] "As well as can be expected." [/glow]
came the hissing reply. A smile spread across his bloodless, thin lips, snake-like fangs now fully visible, as were the sharp points that every other tooth in his mouth ended in. With the rest of his face cast in shadows and the faintest hint of red coloring the ends of each tooth, Nihilit was the embodiement of the darkest demon tales that were told 'round campfires universally.
[glow=red,2,300]"Hopefully Cobalt has already explained my presence here."[/glow] Charon said in a low voice, his dark eyes flashing warningly as Nihilit focused his undead gaze on Namine. The mortiferic demon's grin stretched further, and he met Charon's eyes with his sangfroid, icy ones.
[glow=blue,2,300]"Yesss..."[/glow] Nihilit said softly, turning his head ever so slightly to one side. Orpheus felt his blood go cold. The demon shouldn't have been able to see him from the position in which he was standing, but he knew, without a doubt, that Nihilit could and was.
[glow=blue,2,300]"It ssseemss that you have developed too great a liking for thessse... letalisss creaturess. Or are they here only for their blood?"[/glow]
Charon lifted his head, his shoulders straightening as he took the challenge. [glow=red,2,300]"What else would they be here for? Blood, and nothing more. Though the girl is a necromancer."[/glow]
Nihilit's gaze sharpened and focused on Namine once more. [glow=blue,2,300]"Is that ssso? Ssspeak, girl. Your name...?"[/glow]

If it wasn't for Charon's solid body underneath her own, Naminé might have screamed at the soft, yet strikingly evident hissing that came from pressed, sublte lips. His teeth made her want to cry as she was suddenly flung back into a distant memory of her childhood. Her friend.... her parents... It had been horrible. Her friend, Hexei had been amazing, so sweet. Then one day her parents had taken him away. The next thing she knew... he came back like Nihilit, pointy teeth and all. He'd even tried to kill her.
Her years on the run however had done things for her confidence and ability to deal with whatever was thrown at her. She allowed herself just a second to peek over Charon's arm as Nihilit wasn't speaking or looking at her to meet Orpheus' gaze. If she could handle herself during this scrutiny of her being, that he sure as hell better stay calm. There was no way for her to speak to him, aloud or spiritually with another necromancer standing right there, but the time they had spent together had helped them with communicating through their eyes.
'Orpheus.. It'll be okay. I can handle a lot of things, I'll be okay.' All she could do was hope he understood.
She had pretty much blanked out for the entirety of the demon's conversation, which probably wasn't the smartest idea. She could only hope that Orpheus would remain calm with Nihilit's eyes so intently focused on her. She could hardly bare it herself, but she had to keep them all strong. If either of the guys, or the demon, realized just how terrified she was, they were probably doomed. As Charon told the other demon what she was, her body tensed.
"Is that ssso? Ssspeak, girl. Your name...?" the demon questioned, cooly.
"Naminé." she murmured, hiding the fear from her voice. She quickly and bravely met his eyes before lowering them again out of respect. This whole.... 'eyes up, eyes down' thing was so confusing. She was sure she'd get it wrong sometimes. Gods, help her.
"Naminé Noctis," she finished. She could only hope Nihilit didn't recognize her last name. Most monsters in this land did. Half of them were created by them.
ooc// better?
