Okay, I don't think that this book review will be as large as the one I did on Breaking Dawn, but who knows. This book, The Host, was another book written by Stephenie Meyer, the acclaimed writer of the Twilight Saga.

I have to say, I was surprisingly happy with the outcome in this book. I had been hearing rumors from some people that this book sucked, well I am glad to say that I disagree with those rumors now that I have actually read the book. I will admit however that the book is rather boring for the first 30 or so pages. I found that once I got to page 33 I was hooked, and I just had to settle in for the rest of the chaotic alien/human ride.
This book was very well written, although at some times I did have my doubts. During parts of the book I was thinking, 'How in the world, is Stephenie Meyer going to pull this off. How are both Melanie and Wanderer going to end up happy because, of course, they both had to. It's just how she does things, and I wouldn't have expected any less from any other writer, that is just how books are ended. At least that is what I have found out. Now, don't get me wrong, not all books end like that, I am just saying that a fair amount do, and I am glad because personally, I like happy endings way better than tragic ones.
One thing I wish Stephenie hadn't done was give Wanda [Wanderer] that wimpy body after Melanie finally got free. I mean seriously, did she really have to give Mel the strong body, and Wanda the blonde, small, wimpy one? Why not find another 'dead' human body that is strong, one that fits their world better, huh? Seriously. Still liked the ending though, I was very glad that Mel ended with Jared Howe, and Wanderer ended with Ian O'Shea. I personally liked Ian better because he wasn't nearly as...mean to Wanderer in the long run. Jared was totally being a jerk to her for basically the first half maybe the first 3/4ths of the book...

Ian O'Shea rocked from the beginning, I don't even care that he tried to strangle Wanda in the beginning, Wanda and I love him! I'll share a body with you Wanda if you're gonna be with O'Shea! [lol] Sorry about that. I am a very loose reviewer. Now, I do have problems with the name Wanda however..

I have to say, the name Wanda really did make me think of Wanda from the Fairly Odd Parents. I couldn't get that out of my head for practically the whole book after they started calling her that, and that really and truely did annoy me. Couldn't Stephenie Meyer thought of a better nickname. I really don't know what else she could have come up with, but Wanda got really annoying at some points in the book.
I really, truely liked this book although there were a few suggestions, but that's about it for my review of this book. I may decide to write more about it later, but for now this is it. I guess I did write a little more than I expected, oh well, the Breaking Dawn thing I wrote wasn't really a review more of a statement of what I thought, this is more like a review in my opinion. In this review I tried not to completely give away everything, I hope I succeeded, I really do hate ruining the book for people.. Anyway, below ared some of my favorite quotes from the book in avatar form.
