"Do you realize just how cold the floor will get through the night, even with a fire going and blankets? I'll take the floor."
Nimue turned to look at him, and her breath caught. The flames from the fire cast dancing shadows across his face, illuminating his heart-wrenching, etherreal features with a golden light; it especially did his eyes good--one glance was as good as a kiss to her heightened awareness at this point. It was a long, long moment before she had enough air to speak, let alone understand what he had said.
"Of course you aren't sleeping on the floor," she protested. "After all you've done for me? I couldn't possibly allow you to abase yourself. No, either I sleep on the floor, or we both sleep in the bed." Then she blushed, at least twice as dark as before. "If that's alright with you, of course." she added hurridly.
Her embarrasment at this point was too much, and she turned her back to strip down to her underdress, which was soft and comfortable enough to be worn as a nightgown. The warm beige-tint complimented her unique features to perfection, making her appear like an angel straight from the heavens. She folded her clothes, slender hands moving with her graceful body with the effortless, thoughtless movements of someone carrying out an act that was as familiar as breathing. Nimue set down the overgown and grimaced, looking down at the corset. This was going to be incredibly awkward.
"Bayn, would you mind helping me with this corset?" she asked, trying desperately to sound like she wasn't affected at all by him. Unfortunately, even being in the same room had her so turned on, it was a wonder she wasn't already on him, begging to be screwed. The girl tried to focus on the corset, which was tightly tied and in need of loosening and tossing aside at this point. She struggled to not think of his hands on her body, wreaking havoc with pleasure on her mind and form...

As she turned to face him, it was like the world ignited. Her eyes widened helplessly as she seemed to be caught like a fly in his trap. The world around them seemed to become completely silenced as if someone had muted everything, and at the same time the buzzing in their ears was deafening. It was unbearable, but at the same time Bayn would never wish for it to stop. It was far too...pleasurable.
"Of course you aren't sleeping on the floor. After all you've done for me? I couldn't possibly allow you to abase yourself. No, either I sleep on the floor, or we both sleep in the bed. If that's alright with you, of course." By the end of her little speech, she was blushing darker than she ever had before. He almost wished she hadn't broken the silence because it took away from the pressure that had suddenly fallen on the room, and it had felt... So. Da.mn. Good.
At that point her embarrassment was so great that she had to turn away from him, but if anything their awareness of each other only heightened. Instantly she began to undress, and his eyes widened as his lips became a smirk. Without her overclothes on, she truely did look as though she'd come straight from heaven. Nothing else could be used to describe her, and as one of the Dark ones, he craved nothing as much as he craved the pure, white light she gave off. Almost immediatly his flesh became to burn, but outwardly he looked as calm and ever.
It was at that point that Nimue looked down and grimanced at the tight corset wrapped around her chest. She needed it off to sleep comfortable, but that was an impossible task to do by oneself. She would need his help for it, of all things.
"Bayn, would you mind helping me with this corset?" she questioned, the desperation as she tried to hide his attraction to him apparent. Without saying a word he stepped up behind her, their bodies so close that the heat radiating off of them became an inferno. As his hands gently touched her practically bare shoulders, just above the upper edge of her corset, a pleasurable jolt went through both of their bodies. She was so warm.
At an unbearably slow pace he began to undo the form of torture, letting his hands linger and glide across her skin in a way that could be easily misinterpreted as unintentional. Finally he got the dam.n thing off, leaving her free to breath easily and ...do many other things if she so chose to do them. As he finished his hands dropped to his side, but he didn't step away quite yet. The tension was practically unbearable.

As the sunlight finally fell across Bayn's eyes, they snapped open, instantly alert. Feeling a body beside him, he looked over to discover Nimue curled up, against his side, naked beneath the sheets. Knowing he wouldn't wake her, his hand slid over her arm in an almost tender motion before he pulled it back to his chest and closed his eyes, his other arm above his head. They would have to leave soon. He didn't want to stay in this place, and while in any other case he would probably disappear while the girl slept, he had promised to protect her.
"You care about her."
The thought echoed across his head, but he shoved it away with disdain. Impossible. He was incapable of compassion for a human. His birth, the toxins, his mother, all should have made taken care of that possiblity. Besides, he was Dark by birth, therefore he wasn't born with unconditional love for the pitiful human races below, or at least that was suppose to have been the case.
Still, he did feel something for the girl, although he couldn't decide what. He did care for her, but not the way the voice had jeered at him for. He just didn't want her hurt. What was so wrong with that? Nothing. Sending out a "suggestion" to the servants below he had them make breakfast for the two of them and then bring it into the room without a sound. He watched quietly as they sat the tray on the table beside them and then left, looking dazed. They wouldn't remember a thing.
He knew that in a few moments, the smell of warm food would wake the girl, and then he'd see how she'd react to what had happened last night....and part of the morning. As soon as they had eaten, they would have to head out. The girl couldn't stay here, and he had more missions to attend to. Too bad the girl couldn't fight.

The first thing she became aware of, as the girl slowly arose from her deep slumber, was the delicious warmth that seemed to be radiating from both inside and outside her body. Her body was so heavy, though; she didn't want to move. It was so soporific...
And then a hand ran over her body, vaguely, somewhere outside her consciousness. She mumbled something and fell back into sleep's welcoming embrace.
A few minutes later, however, another interruption actually dragged her from dreamland. The tantalizing scent of food wafted through the air, and she felt her gorgeous lapis-lazul eyes slide open. Her vision was blurred, but after a moment, she could see him.
Bayn. The man who had taken her purity just the last night....had captured her heart in one look. She wouldn't admit it in a thousand years, of course, but she was emotionally bound to a man who would forsake her in moments if he had to.
She stared at him for a long, long time; a petite goddess, wraveled up in the sheets of his bed. Her great, innocent, shimmering orbs gazed up at him, framed by long, dark lashes. Her full, lovely pink lips were parted slightly in her surprise, a tinge of rose coloring the fair skin of her cheeks. Her hair was ruffled, but still coursed over her body in long, lucious waves of ebony. She was an angel, he a demon. They were polar opposites, and yet, perfect matches. He was drawn helplessly to her light, she to his dark. It was an unbreakable, unbearable attraction.
The silence stretched for an eternity. Then, finally, she spoke. Nimue's melodious voice wavered faintly as she asked the only question she could.
"So what happens now?" she whispered.

Closing his eyes, Bayn breathed in slowly, taking in her completely unique, but totally human smell. Slowly her heartbeat sped up as she broke into awareness. Nimue was waking up. Show time. She did better than most, that was certain. He could remember times when girls would wake up and begin crying, not because of him but because of what they'd just done. One could never react badly to sleeping with him, it was impossible.
Nimue's course of action was to stare at his face, his chest, all of him, as if trying to discern what his plan to do with her now was. She wasn't angry or afraid, just wary. From a slit in his lashes he could see her looking at him. Had she been that beautiful before? Sure, he'd noticed her beauty, but now she looked downright angelic. Was that why he'd been so drawn to her? Could she possibly have angel blood coursing through her veins. It was possible, he supposed, despite every sign saying she was nothing but a human girl.
"So what happens now?" she questioned finally.
Opening his eyes, the sun met the sea. "We eat and then we move on. Those humans who killed your father are still looking. They are afraid of justice and if you stay alive to tell on them, then they may go to jail or face death. You'll accompany me, unless this displeases you, but you won't last long on your own against a gang of killers." he murmured, his voice softer than he'd expected.
"Breakfast?" he questioned then as he held the tray for her. It was at this moment he treated her to one of his rare, true smiles.

"We eat and then we move on. Those humans who killed your father are still looking. They are afraid of justice and if you stay alive to tell on them, then they may go to jail or face death. You'll accompany me, unless this displeases you, but you won't last long on your own against a gang of killers."
As he spoke, Nimue's mind flashed back to the terrifying chase; the catcalls, the scent of her would-be-rapist's disgusting breath...she shivered, pulling the blankets around her, and nodded. She didn't really know what to think at this point. The night before hadn't been awful...in fact, she knew full-well that, if he were ever to ask, she would accept him into her bed a thousand more times. Somehow, though...it was wrong. But who was there left to judge her? The Gods? They had left her with nothing but Bayn to cling to. Now, Bayn would have been her object of choice when it came to clinging, but even so...she wanted her family back. Desperately.
He was watching her, with those captivating, ruby orbs. She looked up at him, and her heart skidded to a stop as a slow smile spread across his face. For a moment, she couldn't even breathe.
"Breakfast?" he asked softly.
"S-sure." she stammared softly, and took a piece of toast. After their...extremely intense activities, she wasn't sure how her body would react to a heavy meal. Thinking about those activities now made her blush darkly. She couldn't count how many times she had screamed his name the night before, or how many times he had encouraged her to.
"I will accompany you, if it's no trouble." she murmured after a while. Abruptly, all resentment that had been slightly overshadowing her drained away. Within Nimue was an ability unique to any human--or lack of an ability, anyway. She was almost completely incapable of holding hatred against another creature or being, and even less inclined to act on it. So, she looked up at him after a second, and she smiled. Her smile was enough to make people freeze mid-step in a road, cause preformers to fall off a stage in awe, and perhaps even stop a dragon in flight. It was dazzling, breath-taking, shining with a beautiful, serene energy all its own.

"S-sure."
Her eyes clung to the sight of his smile as if she were drowning and it was the only thing keeping her above the surface of the water. It was heartening, to say the least. While he was a demon, and he shouldn't care for such things, he liked to see her happy around him. It made him....lighter, and for someone like him, that was rare. It was also grately appreciated. If she asked him for anything at the moment, he'd do his best to get it for her without question. She would never understand what feeling....this way.. meant to him.
As she took a piece of toast from the tray, her eyes seemed to haze over as her mind wandered. Not a moment passed before her cheeks were bright red. Obviously she was thinking about last night. Smirking ever so slightly, he recalled his memories from the night before. She was a great lover. He could still hear her screamiing his name. That was something that was different as well from his other encounters. Sure he had asked women to scream for him before, but never had he yearned for it as much as he had with her. He'd urged her to call for him over and over again, and she'd obliged.
"I will accompany you, if it's no trouble." she responded finally, looking suddenly drained. Not physically, more emotionally than anything. She wasn't a women who could hold anger in her heart longer, and if she did, it appeared like it might make her physically sick. Still, one day she would have to be trained if she didn't want to do. He didn't want her to die.
Eventually she met his gaze and she smiled back at him, dazzling him with it's beauty. He almost leaned over to kiss her, but he caught himself before he could, just in time. Still, his hand lifted and stroked her hair gently, verging on tender as he gazed at her silently, his eyes carefully guarded while his emotions roared unchecked in his head. He must be going crazy.
"It's no trouble." Bayn answered, finally, his hand resting on top of her head for a moment before it returned to his side. "I'm headed to the capital of Mitya next to see if I can find the information I was after. It'll be a long journey." he warned her.

"I'm headed to the capital of Mitya next to see if I can find the information I was after. It'll be a long journey."
Her smile faded slightly and gained as sort of bitter tug at the edge of her lips. How ironic; she had been so desperate to leave this town and journey through the land only the day before...before everything had fallen apart. "That sounds lovely, actually." she murmured absently, letting the better part of her consciousness speak for her out of politeness. He had no need of emotional babble. He would want everything packed and ready to go soon. Not that she had much to pack.
Which reminded her; she had no clean clothing. Her brow furrowed slightly, and she glared down at the bed. It wouldn't do to ask him to spend money on her again, especially since he was allowing her to accompany him on this journey. No, she would have to make-do, somehow, as the majority of her clothing had been burned in the tavern. She generally kept her clothing there, in the upper rooms, for when her shift or her father's shift ran late and she had to sleep in the d.amned bar.

Frowning as her angelic smile faultered, his gaze searched hers, trying to discern what had caused the swift change of mood. "that sounds lovely, actually," she said politely, without feeling. Her mind was elsewhere. Thinking about what she'd lost, what she'd never have again, and where wishing had gotten her. Sighing, Bayn's hand moved to her neck and he pulled her forward, kissing her gently. It wasn't like him, but then again, it wasn't like him to care for a human's happiness.
Pulling away after a long moment, his forehead rested on hers again so that he could see into her eyes clearly. "Tell me what troubles you." he murmured, his voice not a command, but open. At that moment one of the servants from below returned from an errand he'd sent her on a while ago. Entered with a cloudly look in her eyes, she sat a pile of newly bought woman's clothing - all Nimue's size - on the bed before leaving without a word. He'd guessed she'd need them a while ago.
They didn't have to leave for another hour or so. The horses he'd purchased - or had a slave do for him - were already saddled and ready to go downstairs. Everything was set, now all that was left was for anything Nimue needed to do before they left. He'd wait.

She gasped when he kissed her, suddenly. Her mind reeled as her body melted into the embrace; the man was impossibly unpredictable. Fortunately, she was allowed a brief respite from thought as he kissed her, as thinking when you've got such a wonderful sensation as Bayn kissing you is just a waste of time. And, of course, you're usually incapable of thought from the incredibly pleasurable distraction.
"Tell me what troubles you," he murmured finally, breaking the kiss. It was a moment before she could speak again, and she had a feeling it would be that way for a long time to come--assuming, of course, that they continued kissing. She hoped so, but still. And d.amn him for being so kind; her worries began to fade when the maid brought in the clothing. He would know her size.
She crawled forward, onto his lap despite their...lack of clothing. It didn't really matter at the moment, as she simply wanted the comfort of his arms around her. Nimue turned her beautiful gaze onto his and sighed, sitting sideways and resting her head against his shoulder. "There's just...so much to take in." she finally admitted. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do, or how I'm supposed to feel right now."

Instantly she melted into his embrace, and his hand became gentle on the back of her neck. It was definitely one of the most pleasurable of all experiences he'd ever been privy too. He was glad he'd run into the girl. Bayn couldn't say he was very happy about the condition in which they'd met, but he was very excited over having gotten to meet her. His mother would be disgusted, or at the very least completely confused if he continued to act this way when they - he got back. He would have to do something about Nimue before hand. That thought made his hand spin. He didn't want to.
He could see the anxiety slowly melt away from her face as the clothes arrived. Good, at least he was helping a little. Suddenly she was crawling forward, and his eyes widened in surprise as she rested on his lap. Pulling the blanket over her shoulders so that she would be warm he turned his warm gaze back onto her as she put her head on his shoulder. Wrapping his arms around her slim waste his eyes became gentle. As their eyes met, he smiled just a bit.
"There's just...so much to take in. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, or how I'm supposed to feel right now."
"You're suppose to feel happy. I'm sure that's what you're father would want, and while I'm sure he didn't want to die when he did, I'm positive he's happy you didn't get hurt." he murmured.

"You're suppose to feel happy. I'm sure that's what you're father would want, and while I'm sure he didn't want to die when he did, I'm positive he's happy you didn't get hurt."
She looked at him quietly, pondering. Her thoughts roamed behind the turquoise pools of her eyes as she considered his words. Yes, her father would have done anything to keep her safe. However, he was gone now. The only justice she could give him now was vengeance. He had always told her, though, that before one sets out for revenge, one should dig two graves. Revenge was a life-consuming goal, and she had no wish to wither away with bitterness in her heart.
So, instead, she realized that focusing on the present was all that mattered now. She had to be happy now, and not worry about what would happen later. It was a a good thing she was naturally optimistic, or her views on the matter might have flat out plummeted. As it was, though, she had suceeded in lifting her mood, and now smiled warmly at him. Her lapis lazul eyes glimmered like an ocean pool in the warmth of the sunlight, currents sending the light flickering through the water's depths like light upon a jem.
She lightly stood, wavering slightly as some soreness kicked in from the night before, stuck her tongue out at him reproachfully, and took one of the dresses into the bathroom to change.
She took a swift bath with scented oils that provided a serene, peaceful mindset for the troubled woman, washed her hair and braided it, and--after drying with the fluffy towels--pulled on the undergarmets provided, followed by a light blue dress. It was a lovely article of clothing, she realized. The fabric, though not the absolute best, was fairly nice and felt lovely against her skin. The enchanting way the sash went across the waistline and the pretty fall of the skirts, layered but light, made her feel like a water nymph. She felt, for the first time in a long time, almost...beautiful.
Her spirits raised further as she recalled that they were leaving Badesdyn. As she walked from the bathroom gracefully, she turned and smiles at Bayn. "I was wondering," she asked in her lilting tones, "If we could stop by Ermete, just for a few minutes. I've always wanted to."

Bayn watched silently, as Nimue seemed to think ove his words. Her life was at a turning point now, what happened for the rest of her life was up to her. She could wither away in hate, or she could live for the present and be as happy as possible. Personally, he hoped for the girl's sake that she chose the second option. Revenge would kill her, and while it would be necessary for her to learn some fighting skills if she wished to stay alive and not shoved around like a piece of discarded food on a plate, she needn't lose herself to it.
Slowly, her eyes returned to his face and her lips parted, gracing him with a brilliant smile. Her eyes seemed to glow with a new radiance that hadn't been there before, which allowed Bayn's heart to become light. At least she seemed happy. He supposed that was all he could ever ask for. Smiling at her gently as she stood from the bed, his expression changed from light to teasing as he saw her body quiver as ...last nights activities registered. He smirked as she turned to stick her tongue out at him, and closed his eyes happily.
Hearing the water running, he leaned back in the bed for a moment to dispell the rest of his need for sleep before getting up to dress. He did so quickly and efficiently, not bothering to take his time. He could be wearing a rag and he'd still look just as gorgeous and normal.
"I was wondering, if we could stop by Ermette, just for a few minutes. I've always wanted to." she questioned, her eyes bright and hopefully trained on his own.
Bayn chuckled and smiled. Walking up to her, his eyes smouldered as he gazed down at her. "Of course. What do you want to see there? Anything in particular?" he questioned, his hands on her hips. They would have to leave soon. He hoped she was ready.

He agreed almost immediately, bringing her mood to a new high. She supposed all this happiness might be her mind's way of protecting her, but she wasn't going to fight it. Nor was she going to fight the way his hands moved to her hips gently.
"Of course. What do you want to see there? Anything in particular?" he asked. She looked up to meet his smoldering gaze, shrugging slightly. "Nothing in particular." She admitted. "It's just so beautiful."
As she was to find out on their journey, however, everthing was more beautiful than the sinister little town she had grown up in. The walk to Ermete took no more than an hour or so, so they had left their bags behind at the Inn. The plan was to go purchase horses and look around, then go back and pick up their things before nightfall.
Nimue looked back upon the massive metal and stone walls, grimy and stained with various...liquids, she supposed. They seemed so oppressive now, looking back from the brilliant viridian of the forest, whereas inside they seemed almost a tribute to the stronghold that Badesdyn ones was. The whole town was like a blot on Mitya, she noted. The forest itself held a sort of bewitching, enticing appeal...not unlike Nimue herself. The slender girl walked alongside her companion, taking two steps for each one of his long, effortless strides. She had a bounce in her step, however, and seemed immune to the problem.
"I've never been outside Badesdyn before." Nimue told Bayn, her teal orbs wide in awe of the glamour around them. She was perfectly aware of the extra spring in her graceful steps, and the radiant smile on her face. Darting ahead slightly, she turned and began walking backwards so as to continue chatting while she moved ahead of him. The light hit him in an appealing way--when didn't it?--and granted her quite an attractive view of the sun burning at the edges of his silhouette. She moved aside so he wouldn't trip over her as the circumambient breeze carressed her skin. She sighed happily and closed her eyes, feeling the sun warm her fair skin and touch her dark hair. After so many years of being without the full embrace of the light, her hair had become the darkest ebony, but Nimue recalled that her mother's hair had been a very dark chestnut. It was quite possible that hers was, as well.
After a moment, she turned and fell back into pace beside him. All the energy of finally being outside the walls of her hometown was bubbling within her, and she took his hand without a thought. Immediately, though, she blushed and looked up at him through her lashes shly, wondering what he thought of it.

Nothing in particular, it's just so beautiful."
Bayn nodded, that sounded like her. Never in his life would he consider going to a place just because it was pretty, but she was different from him in so many ways. First, she was human, second she radiated a pure, white light, third, other than yesterday she didn't experience violence...and that was just a few of the things that made this..whatever this was impossible. Still, while he was with her, he couldn't help but to be kind, her attitude seemed contagious, if she smiled, he would as well.
As they walked, she moved with a bounce in her step. "I've never been outside Badesdyn before." That was her reason. It was fun to watch the way she moved. Everything out here was so new to her, she was like a newborn lamb, looking at the world with awe-filled eyes and stumbling a bit as she did so. Still, he couldn't be unhappy as he watched her appreciate the world around him. Even with all her joy, with the sun hitting his back, he looked darker, more threatening. His eyes blazed fiercely, but not on purpose, his features just weren't made for being gentle very long. Blame his blood-line if you must. Lamya and Orpheus, the two Darkest deities weren't about warm and fuzzy feelings, they were about raw seduction and power, making those two actions what came to him the easiest.
As Nimue returned to his side after letting the wind flow through her almost red tinted hair, he glanced down at her, fighting a smile. Almost immediatly she grabbed his hand, as if without thinking. She was becoming too attached. Himself as well. Bayn enjoyed the smaller hand holding onto his own much more than he ought to. As she blushed and looked at him from under her lashes, his eyes softened letting her know it was okay. He could deny this woman nothing.
When they finally entered Ermete, his breathing haulted as he waited to see what she would think of it. It was spring, so all of the blossoms were swirling about the air and clinging to their trees. Too one with a weaker heart, it truly was magnificant.
