Without Judgment
Name: Dyvan Endsong
Title(s): The Fated One
Age: Physically, he appears to be in his late teens or early twenties. In reality, he has existed for billions of years; timeless, as most of his kind are.
Gender: Male
Species:
Angel: an immortal being of heavenly origin, created by, and for the purpose of fulfilling the wills of, Greater Beings. However, through a sequence of unfortunate happenings and circumstances…
Fallen Angel: An Angel that has lost favor with the Greater Being that created it and is cast down unto the mortal realm in Divine Punishment for however long the Being deems necessary; at times, for all eternity. The process of Falling is thought to be excruciatingly painful, and oftentimes mind-altering, resulting in the former pure, good spirit becoming malevolent and dangerous.
Open Your Eyes
Eyes: Black; dark enough that the pupil is indiscernible from the iris.
Hair: Dark brown-auburn with lighter chestnut streaks.
Build: Lean, but muscular. Massive wings, covered in sleek, ebonite feathers, branch from powerful shoulder blades. He stands at about 6’0”.
Skin: Free of any blemishes save for a few scars that glow with a silvery light, especially in low lighting. Something akin to a tatoo circles his neck and wrists in entrancing patterns, interlaced with ancient symbols, appearing at first glance to be in the shapes of something like chains. His overall skin tone is an even, bronze tan.
Attire: His wings make it difficult to wear shirts, but he is certainly modest enough to wear pants.
What Lies Within
Flight
His wings still grant him flight, though occasionally seize up with the echoes of the agony experienced when Falling.
Song
Singing: For Angels, and even some who have Fallen, the word has a separate meaning. To Sing is to communicate with the very fabric of the mortal realm’s existence; the very pieces that form together to create the realm’s reality. Singing allows Angels to pass through time and space freely, though it is more difficult for Fallen Angels than their uncursed counterparts.
Mental Communication
Because Angels have no audible voice except when Singing, this allows them to broadcast a mental voice into the minds of other Angels and mortal creatures. For a Fallen Angel to attempt to contact another still in the service of a Greater Being would be to burn under Divine Punishment for all Eternity. Some Angels may let this pass unnoted, but on occasion, they have reported it and the Fallen Angel has been sentenced to a condign punishment.
Healing
As an Immortal, flesh wounds last only minutes to days, depending on their severity. Poisons have little effect. He can use this ability to heal mortal creatures no longer, however.
Within the Darkness
Personality: Dyvan suffered an unfathomable amount of anguish and sheer torment while Falling, which has done a great deal of damage to his mind. Unlike some of his brethren, he has not become twisted and malicious; instead, he has become reserved, sorrowful, and almost hollow. While, over time, some of his former spark has returned, certain subjects will immediately cause him to retreat.
In general, Dyvan’s strongest traits are bravery and compassion. Though he is less inclined to be kind now, he finds himself continuing to help those in need.
History: Dyvan had served his mistress faithfully for an endless count of millennia, but the Greater Being he served was Lamya. To be brief, she attempted to coerce him into serving her as more than just her messenger; his handsome features and sharp mind had caught her attention. Despite common belief, Angels are not inclined to be impossibly pure and innocent of all evils, simply to serve their master or mistress to the fullest extent. Generally, they are indeed soft-hearted and gentle beings, but pleasure is not an unfamiliar territory. So, most of her servants would have been delighted to serve her as she wished, but Dyvan was hesitant. In truth, he had fallen in love with a mortal girl, and had sworn to be faithful to her. Upon learning of this, Lamya, enraged, sought out the girl Dyvan loved and killed her. When Dyvan, grieving and angered, continued to refuse, Lamya cast him away. Of course, this is not the fullest extent of the tale, but it is all that will be shared at this time.
