Bayn listened intently as his lover spoke.
"You see, Orpheus...Bayn--er, your father-- sent me to the eternal night while I was pregnant with you. Unfortunately...we didn't realize that the demons and the angels would be so...outspoken. You and I were attacked more times than I care to recall. I gave you to an angel. I don't...I don't recall her name. She promised to take care of you."
Observing both his son's and his lover's responses, Bayn kept his mind focused.
"Was it Liora?"
"Yes...Liora."
As Nimue turned and buried her face against his chest and Orpheus' eyes took to watering, Bayn held onto his angel tightly. There wasn't much for him to do in this situation. He could hardly say he had....strange undeniable emotions for the boy, although he did feel something for the kid. Still, this wasn't his "battle" really. Nimue was the one who needed this, he was just an observer. "How do you know this...Liora..?" he questioned, his voice gentle.
Even though he could hardly say he had feelings for the kid, he felt what all father's must, a sense of...gentle ownership and a need to protect this child. Took a few cautious steps forward, with Nimue in front of him, he stopped a foot or so away from the teen, within arms reach. It seemed to him like Nimue wanted to be closer to the child, despite her pain and sadness, and he would do anything to make her happy.
That "emotional" pull dragged him along too. The way Charon was looking at his son was a brightened picture of how he felt about the kid. An appreciation and then in his case, an aw at having things turned out this way.

"How do you know this...Liora..?"
Nimue and Orpheus both looked up, clearly unsure of whom the question had been directed towards. Finally, after a long moment, Orpheus cleared his throat.
"Because she's trapped inside my mind as we speak."
Charon grimaced and nodded. Oh, the times they had shared. Arguing over pathetically trivial things, such as morality and divinity...or which pair of socks suited Oreo's skin tone better.
Nimue now answered, deciding she might as well. "She was the angel who promised to take care of Orpheus....but how did that happen?"

"Because she's trapped inside my mind as we speak."
Taking in Charon's sympathetic cringe, Bayn almost felt like chuckling. He could imagine what it must be like for a high demon like Charon to be stuck with a stereotypical angel. No doubt they were exactly as described: too caring, and always trying to do the right thing, as well as making others do the right thing as well. Despite Nimue's knew blood, she didn't seem to be that stressful and annoying as of yet, for which he was grateful. He may care about the light being, but even he might lose his temper in such a situation.
"She was the angel who promised to take care of Orpheus....but how did that happen?"
"How did what happen? How did she promise to take care of him, or how did she wind up bound inside his head? Truth be told that mystery is something I'm curious about as well." Bayn said, his crimson eyes focusing yet again on the boy, with a gentle yet powerful stare. The air around them was dense with the power within him, making breathing slightly labored, but Nimue was no doubt use to it, and he figured that so would the other two men, based on their histories.
The girl he was a little bit worried about however. No doubt she was strong, but while unconscious? Could she really stand the pressure?
-----------------------------------
Darkness pressed down around her, like someone was sitting atop her chest and their hands were wrapped around her neck. Namine couldn't understand why the darkness had betrayed her? It was usually sweet, and she associated it with Charon's presence, so why was it now trying to suck the life from her body? The muscles of her abdomin clenched as she twisted inward, hoping to shift the weight from her lungs. It was so hard to breathe. Her dark eyebrows furrowed as her lips parted in a small, labored gasp. Her body cringed slightly, a shudder running, impercievably down her spin. Why Charon, why?
------------------------
Every move that the girl made on the inside moved her body visibly. From within the darkness she whispered, "It hurts...." Why Charon? Why are you hurting me?"
Glancing down at the small form of the girl in Charon's arms, Bayn took a step back, with Nimue still in his arms. "I believe it is my presence here, not to sound egotistical; I believe my aura is choking her. Perhaps we should move to a more private area, where we might speak," he began, nodding in Orpheus' direction, "And she can distance herself from me, to heal. She obviously needs it."
Despite the recent reknitting of most of her injuries the girl still looked positively beaten. Her beauty had not been affected - oh, no - but her body seemed about to give out, no matter it's current wholeness. Her soul, too, was still affected. This girl needed time to heal, and perhaps a little time alone with Charon. He had gone through a lot to protect her afterall, looking past how that had worked out.
"Your chambers perhaps?" Bayn suggested, his eyes flicking first from Orpheus, and then to Charon, and then back.

INCOMPLETE His aura, choking her? Lovely. Charon snarled softly; not in anyone's direction particularly, but at the world in general. What spider's web had they been woven into now?
"Your chambers, perhaps?" Bayn inquired.
Outwardly, Charon remained completely composed. "Certainly. This way." He instructed, turning on his heel and eating up the ground with his long, powerful strides. Orpheus darted ahead, running to get to the chambers first and to get Namine to safety, out of the range of Bayn's powerful aura.
Nimue casted Bayn a grim sideways glance. Clearly, there was a lot they needed to know, and the tension between everyone made her heart ache. For angels, it was a true pain, heartache. Like a headache, only worse. She fell into step beside him.
