Pain…
Tearing, shredding, wrenching, lancing….
Silently screaming…
Silence.
Darkness.
Orpheus’ body was twisting violently, limbs wildy moving against the shackles, eyes flashing all different colors. Writhing…
Burning. Fire, lancing through his wings, stinging his eyes…burning. Like being torn apart. He couldn’t breathe. He was being torn away, torn from his body, torn from his mind. Clinging…
Spasms ripped through his muscles as, slowly, dark matter began to form beside Orpheus. Piece by piece, they began to form the muscled physique of the High Demon, the beginnings of his handsome visage creeping into sight.
"Welcome back to the world, Sons of Mystra." Lamya’s voice echoed through their minds, which were conjoined and yet tearing apart. Screaming was now audible, one voice slowly branching off into two voices, separating as their minds were. Charon was becoming more and more solid, his screeches growing ever louder as he came into being. Orpheus, meanwhile, had fallen so silent and still that one might have taken him for dead.
Silence. The silence, in itself, was so loud that it closed in on Charon’s ears and mind, an echoing expanse of sudden and unexpected solitude marred only by the fading call of his angelic counterpart as she cried out in pain. Their consciousnesses abruptly snapped apart, and the pain faded just as swiftly.
Charon slowly sat up, gazing down at his hands, which were his own for the first time in so long he couldn’t remember when they were last. His. His power was back. He had control. He was, once again, his own master.
Orpheus, however, was in the middle of handling an excruitiating headache. And a sobbing angel. Sitting up was painful, his mind was in chaos. He blindly followed Charon’s orders to leave, staggering out of the temple and towards the only person who’s arms he could rest safely in.
“Nami,” he croaked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Charon stood up slowly, stretching his arms over his head and flexing his fingers, taking his time before turning towards Lamya. The attraction between them was powerful, but his triumph at being returned to his own body was equally strong. He approached her slowly, but his mind was on Orpheus and Liora--or, rather, the lack of.
Naminé found herself trembling in horror and anxiety as she heard the blood-curdling scream that slowly separated into two separate voices. As reassuring as the two voices were, the scream terrified her. She would have thought the Goddess would have been able to fix this situation without causing either of them pain, but instead it sounded as if she'd chosen the most painful solution possible. As tears streamed down from her chocolate orbs, her eyes began to flash slowly from neon rose to brown and back, checking for either her beloved or Charon's ghosts to appear before her, fearing the worst.
-------------
Lamya watched without regret as the two men screamed at the separation of their minds. Perhaps she should have warned them, Charon at least, what the separation would feel like, and what it might cause, but she had felt it unnecessary to do so. Why tell them they would feel this horrid, why not let it be a surprise? Even the silence of Orpheus' body did not bring emotion out of her, she knew he would be fine. Goddess' did not fail in healing, they command everything about the Earth. They have specialities, yes, that people pray to them in particular, but they can do anything they so desire.
Finally her mask slipped away as Orpheus' body stumbled from the Temple, clenching his head, as Charon made stretched and worked his muscles, remembering the capabilities of his body. Suddenly, all pretense was dropped, and anyone could see why she was the Goddess of Seduction. Her eyes became smouldering coals of the blackest ink, with small silver flecks reflecting light in them, and she stepped down from the place she had taken on her alter once more, hips swaying divinely as she approached Charon, matching his pace. The aphrodisacs in the air became unresistable even for Charon. Later, she would tell him the consiquences of his request, and tell him a few things that he ought to hear, but that could wait til morning. He wouldn't be able to leave until she told him, as bound by the oath, because telling him the side-effects was part of the job.
"Come to me, newly restored High Demon, Charon.." she murmured, her voice a sultry purr that no man, woman, child, or beast would be able to deny.
-----------------
Naminé gasped as she saw Orpheus, and it was Orpheus, stumbling weakly from the Temple. She stayed still, knowing she was not to move from the trees, although she knew not how. As she heard her name come from his parched lips, she sobbed, and finally, as he reached her arms, she pulled him tenderly into her embrace, and laid him down on her lap, unsure of how he faired. She stroked his hair from his eyes. "Oh, Orpheus.." she whispered, tears dripping onto his face.
Orpheus lay with his head against her heart, listening to the frantic beating, trying to drown out Liora's cries. The pain still lingered for her, and though his body ached, their mental anguish was incomparable. He was limp against Naminé's body, each breath shallow and shuddering, a stray tear occasionally leaking from his eyes.
"What happened? What did Charon do?" he finally whispered, too exhausted to try and remember.
ooc// we'll leave lamya and charon to their nasty. charon...i hope you know if you leave me for lamya, i will personally do unspeakable things to you *innocent smile*
bic// Naminé wrapped her arms lightly around Orpheus' head and leaned over him, her head drooping near his. In the morning, she would make Lamya heal the rest of him. Right now, she could hear Charon and Lamya preparing to... "get at it". Unlike the usual buzzing she got in the back of her head, when Liora or Charon talked, she felt dizzy instead with the Angel's pain and anguish. The world was spinning, but Orpheus stayed in clean focus. Now that she had almost lost him, she wasn't willing to lose him again.
Her lips trembled as she kissed away the few tears that leaked from the corner of his eyes at whatever pain he felt. "The monster...the one that I had seen in the vision that made us leave.....it attacked you, and I got captured by my parents. Somehow Charon took over your body because you were unresponsive and rescued me... You've been gone for near two days now. Charon went to Lamya today to have her free him and bring you back. That was what he did... and now he's "paying" for it." she murmured. Once again her eyes were chocolate, knowing that she didn't have to fear his ghost, at least not yet.
The memories were foggy. He was already too fatigued to even attempt to recall the details of what she was saying, but all of it sounded vaguely familiar. He understood it and could match some of the visions swimming through his subconscious to what she was saying.
”I can imagine what the price was,” he mumbled, trying not to think about it. The pain of the exorcism was still fresh in his mind. Liora was only just beginning to calm down, and he didn’t want to interrupt the process in any way. Nami, too, had seemed to relax.
”We should leave,” he murmured, beginning to struggle to his feet, reaching out and using the tree as support.
((sorry it’s kinda bad lol))
Naminé stroked his hair gently with her head bowed. "I figured you could. He really....came through. He was going to basically sell himself into slavery to Lamya to bring you back, Orpheus." she murmured. The tears returned, but she brushed them away angrily. "Yes. I think Charon and I still have a room at the Inn. We'll go there." she murmured, helping him to his feet. Her wings ripped from her back, and she put an arm around his waist before pulling into the sky, supporting him easily. "Don't complain." was all she said.
When they finally reached the inn, she simply flew through the window of the room she and Charon had occupied the night before. Sitting Orpheus down on the bed, she went down the counter, paid for another night, and returned upstairs. "She hurt you, didn't she?" she asked quietly.
"She hurt you, didn't she?"
Orpheus had suffered their flight to the hotel in silence, slipping in and out of consciousness until Naminé spoke. Looking slowly over at her as he sat down on the bed, he struggled to comprehend what she was asking. It was a long moment before he understood. “Lamya? Yes…but it probably would have hurt no matter what.” he mumbled, sinking back onto the bed and slipping into sleep.
((okay, it’s serious plot-storming time! This post was an epic failure lol))
Naminé sighed and sank into a protective post on the armchair across from his bed and directly next to the moonlight window. Even after all this, it didn't feel like she had him back. Lamya had healed him perfectly, but he was having killer side-effects. It wasn't fair, for him or for her. Both of them had lived the worst lives until each other had come along, and then things got better, only to be destroyed by their pasts. Why is living in the present so da.mn hard?!
The only somewhat good thing that had happened today, other than Orpheus waking up, was Charon's readiness to sacrifice himself to slavery. That wasn't a good thing, but the fact that he cared enough to do so, definitely was. Never again would she say she disliked Charon truly. It would be a lie.
Finally after her brain had stumbled through hours of worthless material, Naminé fell asleep, curled up in the chair. She figured Charon would wake them in the morning, if he even bothed to come back.
[glow=red,1,000] It wasn't to say it had been bad. After all, when you're with the Goddess of Sex, at worst it's incredible and at best its...beyond description. So mind-blowingly, excruitiatingly pleasurable that there was no way to fully put it into words.
Charon couldn't deny, however, that his relief at finally escaping Lamya's clutches was profound. Even though it had been nice to have her in his own body again, the woman was much too...manipulative. It was threatening.
The response the darkness had to his return was instant and so strong he was literally forcing the shadows back to their rightful positions as he crept through the alleyway. Charon could feel the immense power flowing through his veins once again, unrestrained by angelic interference. It was a sort of high he had missed with a passion, but had been denied so long it was nearly forgotten until now.
The recent rain had left mist and fog clinging to the air, and it swirled about his body as he moved in utter silence, like some sort of apparation. Moving past a window that had been mostly shattered long ago, he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the window and stopped.
There. He could see it now, even as his hands rose to his skin as if needing proof. That was his face: the endless abyss of his eyes broken only by the hypnotic fleck of gold in the irises, slightly hidden behind a few strands of his touseled, ebonite hair; the high cheekbones; the proud slant of his nose; the thin, alluring lips; the chisled jaw; the golden-bronze tan of his skin...all of it: his. The devastating attractiveness that had women--and some men--throwing themselves at his feet was all there. The broad shoulders. The powerful, lean, defined muscles of his chest, arms, shoulders, and not to mention abs--abs that disappeared below his belt in a tribute to his ability to move said area for hours without any effort--that made up the fine torso of his six-foot-five body. His wings burst from his shoulder-blades in a magnificent seven-foot arc that, when fully spread, could range up to eighteen feet across. The strong, long legs that could launch him a hundred feet into the air when necessary. He was and always had been, all in all, the very definition of masculinity. He was the dream of any woman, the envy of any man...he was Charon, and baby...
He was back. [/glow]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sir, we can't allow you to just barge into a guest's rooms without their permission."
Charon looked distastefully at the little, obviously-terrified man that had been repeating the same thing over and over like a broken record. Now, he had some patience for mortals when they weren't complete morons, but unfortunately for this particular mortal, he WAS a moron, and Charon was rather low on patience.
The man seemed to be oblivious to the fact that he was arguing with a man twice his size, five times his strength, and with obvious demonic origins. No, he simply continued to ramble on and on, causing a vein to visibly begin pulsing in Charon's forehead and a small twitch to begin in his left lower eyelid.
The man reached out to push Charon from the lobby, which was the last straw. "So, as you can see, it simply can't be done. Now, I would really appreciate it if you--"
[glow=red,2,300]"Do you ever shut up? Some of us have better things to do than listen to your ignorant, obnoxious opinion."[/glow]
Charon interrupted, ignoring the cry of alarm from the d.amn mortal as he literally picked the fat little man up and threw him over the receptionist's desk. Brushing past and dusting off his hands, he focused on the locked door that was the next obstacle in his path.
Hence, Naminé and Orpheus awoke to the sound of their door coming crashing down off the hinges, opening their eyes to the sexiest being on the planet standing in said doorway.
[glow=red,2,300]"Rise and shine, sweetlings."[/glow]
he said, voice dripping in sarcasm. Orpheus could do nothing but gape at the reappearance of his demonic counterpart.

As Naminé jumped, startled from her spot by the window, her brown eyes darkened and her lips pulled back in a snarl. She stopped instantly when she saw it was Charon. Sitting back down in her chair, completely at ease, she nodded her head in greeting. "Good morning, Charon," she murmured.
"I suppose it is safe to assume you had a fun time last night? I also suppose it would be safe to say that you are here to tell us the side-effects of Lamya's particular type of exorcism." she added, her voice steady and alluring beautiful. The days on her own and with Charon had done wonders for her. Naminé Noctis had only grown in her beauty while Orpheus had been away, and everything about her radiated a newly possessed confidence. Not in her body, or her abilities, but in her ability to handle any situation no matter how bad, and it only increased her appeal to all men.
Out of the corner of her eye she could see Orpheus' mouth hanging open in shock at the appearance of his demonic counterpart. He probably had never seen him truely because when they were in the In Between, Orpheus was blind. She however had always known, and truly she felt like he would be a great catch for any other woman, although he was a harda.ss.

Charon tilted his head at Naminé, his eyes going over her slowly. "Ah, hello, my dear. You are a sight to behold this dreary morning." he murmured.
Orpheus blinked once, and then again. It was a curious experience to hear Charon's perverted remarks spoken aloud as compared to within the confines of his mind. "Charon." he said, a bit warily, in greeting. He wasn't a hundred percent sure of the demon's intentions any longer, and that scared him.
Charon rolled his eyes, striding over. "Now, now. There's hardly any need to be so formal with me, Orphie. We've only been apart a day, and already you're treating me as a stranger. It wounds my delicate heart."
"There's nothing delicate about your heart," Orpheus informed him dryly, earning a chuckle from his former companion.
"Just as there's nothing quick about your wit."
"I see your cold heart hasn't been thawed in the slightest by your granted freedom from my mind."
"You would be rather shocked to find what being released from such a small prison does."
Orpheus' lips twitched. "Bastard."
"Indeed." Charon murmured with a bow, sufficiently ending their banter. "Now, if you wouldn't mind gathering up your things, we really must be going. I have another location in mind, and it's a great deal nicer than our current lodgings."

Naminé chuckled. "Oh, I'm sure I am after a bout (sp?) with the Goddess of Seduction." she murmured, rolling her eyes. "It seems you are more open in your meat-making of women when in your own body. Oh, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, simple commenting on a fact, and noting it away." she smirked. Her long legs were crossed in front of her, calm while Orpheus seemed rather nervous. Then again, she'd been hanging with Charon for the past 48 or so hours, so she wasn't all that worried.
When her two men were finally done, she got to her feet, her dark brown hair tumbling over her shoulder in a waterfall of silk. "Really, you two act as if you've been apart for years. Where exactly do you plan on leading us, Charon? I'm still rather tired from all of our recent experiences, and am currently still in the process of healing. You hadn't noticed while taking me out, but they did actually begin to experiment on me again." she said, her eyes clear.
She wasn't in that much pain, so she'd go, but she wished Charon would at least own up to where he was planning on taking them and whether or not he'd discuss the side-effects or not.

Charon merely smirked at her after her first little rant, his wings unfurling and rolling back in casually as he shrugged.
[glow=red,2,300]"Yes, well, what can I say?"[/glow]
"We'd all be happier if you didn't say anything," Orpheus snapped irritably.
"Really, you two act as if you've been apart for years. Where exactly do you plan on leading us, Charon? I'm still rather tired from all of our recent experiences, and am currently still in the process of healing. You hadn't noticed while taking me out, but they did actually begin to experiment on me again."
Orpheus looked at her, concern flickering across his face. "Are you alright? Do you need me to carry you?" He asked, holding out his arms invitingly. Charon pretended to gag, but in truth didn't really care one way or another.

Naminé found herself rolling her eyes at Charon's nonchalant attitude. Personally she liked him better inside her lover, but at least now she wouldn't have to deal with the horrid buzzing at every turn. At that, she found herself wondering how the Angel was doing. Probably not well, it seemed like she was crushing on Charon a little bit, so of course she would be depressed that he was gone forever now.
Charon kept looking at her with his dark, deep eyes. It was like he was imagining himself in her pants, and it was, she hated to admit it, a little unnerving. Oh, sure, Charon was a sexy beast, but she didn't want him "rolling around in the dirt" with her. She loved Orpheus. That was more than enough.
As her final words slipped from her mouth, Orpheus' eyes flashed to her face, concern evident in his eyes. "Are you alright? Do you need me to carry you?" he questioned, as his arms stretched out in front of him, comfort radiating off of every pore of his skin. His delectable (sp?) skin, the skin she hadn't gotten to feel under her fingers in so long. Oh how she wanted him.... No! Bad. Mentally shaking her head of steamy thoughts, she focused her eyes back on her lover. Ignoring Charon she tilted her head to the side slightly and her eyes smouldered. So perhaps her intentions weren't the best, but hey, he offered!
Smiling she pursed her lips and nodded. Hey, if she didn't have to do the work, it would let her heal faster...and the faster she healed the faster they... Oh yeah, she'd let him carry her. Moving to his side, her eyes showed how happy she was that he was back. "Let's get the hell out of here." she murmured.

((lmfao! "the faster she healed, the faster they'd...oh yeah, she was letting him carry her XDDDD That's epic.))
Orpheus felt a warm smile spread over his face as he gazed at her, easily scooping up her petite body in his strong arms. He could see the arousal making her pupil dialate, and made sure she knew it by letting his lips brush her ear as he shifted her into a more comfortable position.
"Let's get the hell out of here," she muttered, and Charon chuckled softly, amusement making the golden flecks in his irises shimmer slightly.
Orpheus moved towards the door, kicking it open with one foot and carrying Nami down the stairs. Ignoring the alarmed and angry yells of the manager, he carried her straight out and left Charon to handle the rest. A few moments later, the demon had joined them. Wordlessly, he spread his wings, and in two strong strokes that made Orpheus and Nami's hair whip around, their clothing lashing at their bodies from the wind, he was airborne.
"Showoff," Orpheus grumbled softly as he started at a run and lifted into the air with his wings flapping quickly, holding her body against his securely.
Charon gazed out at the horizon, so far ahead, as he heard Orpheus and his little girlfriend lift off behind him. The news he had recieved was troubling, and he needed to get them someone safer. Dam.n humans...so weak. It was a shame he had become so attached, maybe his life would be a bit easier.
The flight took a little over an hour. Within thirty minutes, Orpheus was beginning to feel the strain bearing down on his newly weakened body. It was taking just a bit too much effort for him to remain aloft, and each stroke of his wings took just a bit too much out of him than he remembered. By the time they landed, he was ready to drop. As he landed, he staggered slightly, then let Nami's feet slide to the ground as he knelt down, struggling to catch his breath. Charon glanced over with a raised eyebrow, but when Orpheus offered no explaination, he crossed his arms and waited wordlessly. A moment later, Orpheus forced himself to rise, visage twisted slightly in pain as he panted to catch his breath.
((I'm trying to do better, sorry this wasn't that great T.T ))
